Mental Health Professional
Betsy Bell is the mom of a 2022 FMS graduate and currently works as the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Programs Coordinator at the Department of Criminal Justice Services, Division of Public Safety Training and Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety. She conducts and coordinates programs and training on a variety of mental health topics for school personnel and law enforcement. She also collaborates with other state agencies and programs to support the mental health of Virginia's youth. Before working at DCJS, she spent fourteen years in the public schools as a teacher, school counselor, school administrator, and director of mental health services, as well as adjunct faculty in the Virginia Community College System. Betsy lives in Albemarle County with her partner, Bob, and their dog.
