Finding the Right Fit The Fishburne Experience

Fishburne is a boarding school built on a military framework that brings structure, clarity, and purpose to daily life. Cadets live and learn on campus in an environment designed to reduce distraction, establish routine, and create space for real growth. The rhythm of the day, the expectations, and the shared responsibility help young men develop focus, confidence, and self-discipline.

At the same time, Fishburne is intentionally small and deeply personal. Faculty, staff, and coaches know every Cadet, understand their strengths and challenges, and work closely with families throughout the process. This combination of structure and support allows boys to settle in quickly, find their footing, and begin building the habits that prepare them for college, service, or whatever path they choose next.

Belonging “We See What’s Great in You”

At Fishburne, we do more than notice you. We recognize what makes you capable, even before you see it yourself. That belief shapes everything we do.

Fishburne is intentionally small so you receive real support and honest feedback. You will know your teachers, coaches, and fellow Cadets, and they will know you. That closeness creates opportunity, whether it is on the field, in the classroom, or in daily life.

  • Given Room to Grow

With structure, guidance, and opportunity, Cadets are pushed to try new things, take responsibility, and discover what they are capable of.
  • Prepared for What’s Next

Fishburne Cadets leave with confidence, self-awareness, and the discipline to succeed in whatever path they choose.
  • Seen for Who You Are

Because of our size and commitment to every Cadet, no one fades into the background. You are known, challenged, and supported every day.

Let's get to know each other.

The Fishburne Admissions process is designed to help us get to know your son better, while helping you learn more about Fishburne. For starters, we accept new middle school students in grades 6, 7, or 8, as well as high school grades 9-12. Transfer students are admitted into the upper grades if space is available.

It’s also important to understand that we’re looking for boys who not only meet our standards for admission but—and this is essential—truly want to attend Fishburne. While we have a gift for seeing what’s great in boys, we can only truly succeed with boys who have a desire to be here and bring their best to the experience.
