Fishburne Cross Country Competitive at Augusta County Invitational

FISHERSVILLE– For the first time at the Augusta County XC Invitational Meet there were 2 divisions, White division for small private schools, with public A and AA schools and Green division for public AAA teams. Fishburne finished fifth in the White division out of five teams. The team’s average elapsed time for it’s five scoring runners averaged 22:27 which was good enough to beat AAA Staunton High but just 5 seconds short of beating single A Riverheads High School.

Freshman Dietrich Larson led the Caisson effort, medaling in 10th in the White division with a time of 20:50. Junior Jeffrey Billings was next for the Caissons with a time of 22:02, followed by sophomore Eli Lianez with a time of 22:19. Sophomore Nathan Zapata (23:25) and Junior Chase Bowman (23:34) rounded out the scoring five. Almost in the scoring five, freshman Jayden Parker had a great first race ever with a time of 23:42. He was followed by senior Christopher Lee, also a first time racer, with a time of 25:51.

8th grader Jeremiah Dickenson competed in his first race ever as well. He ran in the Middle School division with a respectable 17:23 over a 2 mile course, finishing in 55th of 74 runners.

Next up for Caisson Runners is the Fall Foliage 5K in Waynesboro on October 9.
