Why Give?

A Gift of Financial Support to Fishburne is Far More Than Just a Pledge of Money

It is an investment in the future of our one-of-a-kind school.

It is validation of our original mission “…to Forge Educated, Honorable Young Men of Courage.”

It is a demonstration of thanks from parents, former parents, and loyal alumni.

It is evidence from community supporters across the country that we meet an essential need.

It is direct funding to our many scholarships.

Each year, our alumni, faculty, grandparents, parents and friends choose to make an investment in our cadets and community. They give to show thanks. They give because they see a need. They give because they see what could be.

FMS Day of Giving – April 10, 2023

Fishburne Military School will host a Since 1879 Day of Giving,

an online giving initiative, on April 10, 2023, to commemorate

the birthday of our founder Professor James A. Fishburne.

We plan to look back to his 29th birthday in 1879 when Fishburne Military School opened its doors as a school. We hope you will fall in and join us!

Our goal is to raise $18,790.00 with 1,000 supporters (each supporter giving $18.79)

to provide our Cadets with individualized learning and real-life leadership opportunities that support a lifetime of brotherhood and success in the modern era.

To give a gift of $18.79 on April 10, 2023, VISIT OUR MAKE-A-GIFT page.

Ways to Give

We make it easy to give to Fishburne Military School. If you have any questions about the following giving methods, please contact alumni@fishburne.org. We are here to help.

Annual Giving Campaign

The FMS Annual Giving Campaign is an annual program that raises funds for to support from 10 to 30 percent of the school’s yearly operating budget. “Annual Giving” refers to gifts that are renewed by the donor each year, or which are made yearly as part of a multi-year pledge arranged between the donor and the school.

Capital Gifts

Capital Gifts are normally restricted donations, with specific direction from the donor. For example, a donor may designate that a gift be used for a building project, or exclusively for scholarships.

Endowment Funds

Endowment Funds are gifts from donors with a specific purpose. These are typically invested, with interest proceeds being used as the donor requested. Endowment funds can receive continuing support from the original donor or future supporters.

Scholarship Funds

Scholarship Funds are a financial award that is given to students who exhibit the best application for a scholarship based on the criteria set forth by the fund. Click here to learn more about our Leadership for Life scholarship fund.
