Fishburne Announces Monthly Cadet Awards Winners

In recognition of their outstanding academic and military performance, Cadets Stephan Fuschich, Joseph Caddies and Max McKendry were honored during a formation before the assembled Corps of Cadets on Friday.

Cadet Stephan Fuschich earns best cadet award for October 2021

Waynesboro, VA – In recognition of his outstanding academic and military performance, Cadet Stephan Fuschich, has been named Fishburne Military School’s Cadet of the Month for October 2021.

Fuschich, an eleventh-grader from Honduras, is in his first year at Fishburne Military School. He was officially recognized as Cadet of the Month during a formation of the entire Corps of Cadets last Friday.

He is an active member of Fishburne’s soccer and swimming teams as well as the FMS JROTC Raiders team.

Upon graduation, Fuschich plans to attend a four-year university and major in Business Management or Agriculture.

When asked about the transition from Honduras to Fishburne, Fuschich noted: “I like it here. I’m enjoying being a squad leader and helping others.”

Cadet of the Month is selected by a board of Cadet Officers, and is approved by the Commandant of Cadets. A Fishburne Military School Cadet of the Month is selected based upon his academic, military and community achievements throughout the previous month.

Cadet Joseph Caddies earns honors as Best Officer for October 2021

In recognition of his outstanding academic and military performance, Cadet Joseph Caddies, has been named Fishburne Military School’s Officer of the Month for October 2021.

Caddies, a twelfth-grader from Virginia Beach, Virginia, was officially recognized as Cadet Officer of the Month during a formation of the entire Corps of Cadets last Friday.

An active member of Fishburne’s lacrosse team, Caddies is also a member of the FMS weightlifting and serves as the Battalion Medical Officer.

After Fishburne, Caddies hopes to join the navy or attend a trade school.

When asked about his senior year, Cadet Caddies noted: “I am excited to graduate but I will definitely miss the brotherhood here at Fishburne.”

Cadet Max McKendry earns honors as Best Non-Commissioned Officer for October 2021

In recognition of his outstanding academic and military performance, Cadet Max McKendry, has been named Fishburne Military School’s Non-Commissioned Officer of the Month for October 2021.

McKendry, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Virginia, was officially recognized as FMS NCO of the Month during a formation of the entire Corps of Cadets last Friday. He is the son of LCDR Steven and Mrs. Melissa McKendry.

He is a member of the FMS Color Guard, the Fishburne soccer team and Key Club.

“I love the structure and the daily routine the most,” says McKendry when asked what he loves the most about Fishburne.
