Robert C. (Bob) Miller is a native of Asheville, NC. Dr. Miller graduated from the University of North Carolina/Asheville and holds a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Education from the Curry School of the University of Virginia.

Professionally, Dr. Miller served from 1970-96 at Fishburne Military School as teacher, coach,  athletic director, guidance director, headmaster and, from 1986-96, as superintendent. From 1997 until retirement in 2013 he served as dean at Fork Union Military Academy. Currently, he is administrative coordinator for the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.

Dr. Miller has served as a director of the Virginia Association of Independent Schools, Virginia Council for Private Education, Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association, Virginia Academic Decathlon, Waynesboro YMCA, Waynesboro/Augusta United Way and Fishburne Military School.

Dr. Miller resides in Waynesboro, is married, and has one daughter.

Fishburne Military School has earned the US Army’s highest level of accreditation and maintained its designation as a JROTC Honor Unit With Distinction for over 40 years. We may also nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies and host one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
