Leadership Education Training (L.E.T.) at Fishburne Military School

Fishburne Military School is a US Army JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction

The objectives of the Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program at Fishburne Military School are the cultivation of citizenship and the development of leadership capabilities in the individual cadet.  The principles taught are such that they will apply to both civilian and military pursuits.

Leadership Education Training (LET)

is administered by retired and regular Army personnel assigned to the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps at Fishburne Military School.“To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens” is the mission statement of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program. FMS JROTC teaches the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline

Fishburne Military School focuses on the development of better citizens by building skills in leadership, citizenship, life success, geography, cultural awareness, wellness, and fitness in a structured interactive environment. 

The JROTC Department is dedicated to promoting the broad, lifelong skills that every cadet needs for success in future life and career endeavors. FMS utilizes a military structure as a vehicle to teach leadership and responsibility where students will experience a more structured and disciplined environment. This  includes classroom and laboratory instruction in the history, customs, traditions and purpose of Army JROTC.  Core Values are taught through classroom and field activities which are specifically designed to help young men:

  2. Communicate using verbal, non-verbal, visual, and written techniques
  3. Take responsibility for their actions and choices
  4. Do their share as a good citizen in their school, community, country, and the world
