FMS Cadets at JROTC STEM Academy

- Blacksburg, VA - Two Fishburne Military School Cadets returned this weekend from an exciting and challenging JROTC STEM Leadership Academy hosted at Virginia Tech. Cadets Connor Green (Virginia Beach, VA) and Michael Masone (Ivy, VA) were among the 120 Cadets from all of 4th Brigade selected to attend.

FMS Earns Most ROTC Scholarships in 4th Brigade

- Fishburne Military School's Class of 2017 consists of only 44 students but has just claimed the most ROTC Scholarships of any school in JROTC's 4th Brigade. Representing 318 schools from West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the District of Columbia, 4th Brigade is made up of over 3000 JROTC Cadets.

Fishburne Military School Instructor Recognized for Innovation in Education

- Waynesboro, VA -- Fishburne Military School Technology Instructor, SGT Kenneth Glass, has been nominated by the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council for this year's Innovation in Education K-12 Award. The Shenandoah Valley Technology Council's Tech Nite will be held at James Madison University on May 3rd.

Fishburne Caissons Release Fall Football Schedule

- Yount Barracks at Fishburne Military School came roaring back to life this week as the 2017 Caissons Football team returned to campus and began their prep for the Fall campaign.  Their first challenge will come on Thursday, August 24, when Coach Hill and his Caissons travel to Saint Anne's Belfield (Charlottesville, VA) for a scrimmage game.

Farrar Takes Gold in Commonwealth Games

- Fishburne Military School Cadet Matthew Farrar opened the Commonealth Games wrestling tournament with a first period pin this weekend in Lynchburg. Farrar quickly got the takedown using his signature ankle side-sweep and deftly ran a ball-and-chain into a double-bar for the pin.

Caissons Track and Field Wins Five Medals

- The Fishburne Military School Caissons Track and Field Team traveled to Blue Ridge School for the Virginia Independent Conference (VIC) Meet on Saturday. The Caissons made a competitive showing, bringing home a gold medal, a silver medal and three bronze. Marsh and Brooks were the top performers of the day, each bringing home three medals.

Fishburne Honors Spring Athletes

- Three times each school year the Fishburne Military School Caissons come together in Lawton Chapel to celebrate the successes of their athletic teams and to recognize individual efforts and achievements. The awards presentations are then followed by a special dinner prepared for the athletes.

John Rorke ’01 Named Veteran of the Week

- Oklahoma City, OK -- John Rorke, Fishburne Military School Class of 2001, received a standing ovation on Monday as the Oklahoma House of Representatives honored him as their Veteran of the Week. John served two tours in Iraq, returned home to finish his B.A. at Oklahoma State University, and went on to earn a M.S.W. from Arizona State.

Fishburne Military School Mourns Passing of Giant in School History

- Joseph Byron Yount III, 76, former Waynesboro mayor and longtime city attorney, well known for his half century of board leadership at Fishburne Military School and as a local historian, speaker, and writer, died Sunday. Mr. Yount was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Fishburne-Hudgins Educational Foundation in 1967 and served tirelessly until his death.

Shackleford: I learned to be a leader at Fishburne

- Keith Shackleford didn’t remember who spoke at his Fishburne Military School graduation in 1988, but he remembers a lot about that day.

Alumni Support FMS Through Phone-a-thon

- Fishburne Military School (VA) alumni gathered in Waynesboro for a Phone-a-thon in support of the school's future and to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. "The future strength of the school does NOT depend upon one or two large donors...the future of the school depends upon the size, strength and commitment of the FMS family as a whole," notes Todd.
