Fishburne Military School Wrestlers Strong at State Tournament

The Caissons of Fishburne Military School finished just 4.5 point short of repeating as Division II VISAA State Champions over the weekend. The FMS Wrestlers combined to finish 12th overall out of 40 schools competing in the state tournament. This weekend three Caissons Wrestlers travel to Lehigh University to compete in the 84th National Prep Wrestling Championships.

Caissons Wrestling Takes 2nd at VIC Championships

The Fishburne Military School Wrestling Team brought home the 2nd-Place Trophy from the Virginia Independent Conference Finals over the weekend. It all came down to the last match. Fishburne Military School needed a pin; but Hargrave pulled out a 132-131 victory.  Roanoke Catholic was 3rd followed by Covenant ,Virginia Episcopal School and Blue Ridge.

FMS Swimmers Take Third at Conference Finals

The Caissons brought home the 3rd-place medal from the VIC Conference finals, leaping over Roanoke Catholic, Covenant and New Covenant. Five Fishburne Military School Swimmers will advance to the State meet. This marks the best finish for FMS Swimming in four seasons

Caissons Wrestlers Bring Home Hardware

The Fishburne Military School Wrestlers traveled to North Carolina to battle some of the best teams in that state. Wrestling against mostly 5A schools, the Caissons of Fishburne sent four wrestlers to the semi-finals and pushed three into the Finals. Next, FMS will be home for Senior night on Wednesday, January 23rd (5:30 pm).

Fishburne Swimmers Start Season 4-0

The meet started with the Fishburne Military School Caissons winning the 200 Medley with a state-qualifying time. Cadets Wesley Loe (Annandale, VA), Sebastian Holdridge (Bowie, MD), Ryan Argueta (College Park, MD)  and Gavin Flanagan (Centreville, VA) led the effort.

Fishburne Soccer Stuns Hargrave

Chatham, VA – Friday, October 19, 2018 – The Fishburne Military School Caissons’ Varsity Soccer team (4-8), despite a short bench, pulled off a stunning upset at Hargrave Military Academy on Friday afternoon. The Caissons overcame an early onslaught and a late game penalty that left them a man down for the final twelve minutes of the contest.

Fishburne Hosts Olympic Champion for Wrestling Clinic

Young wrestlers from Fishburne Military School and the surrounding area were treated to a very special skills clinic at FMS on Sunday. Olympic Gold Medalist Kenny Monday was on the school’ s Waynesboro campus to help aspiring young wrestlers hone their skills and cultivate the mentality of a champion.

Caissons Soccer Shuts Out Holy Cross

The Fishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA) Varsity Soccer Team hosted Holy Cross (Lynchburg, VA) at Anderson Field on Tuesday. The Caissons shut out Holy Cross as FMS Goalie Benjamin Pugel (Washington, DC) saved nine and Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA) led Fishburne in scoring with four goals.

It was a beautiful day to run and the Caisson runners took full advantage of the cool weather to continue improving as Fishburne Military School hosted their annual Caisson Challenge Cross Country Invitational at Coyner Springs Park. Four Caissons runners set new personal records during the course of the day.

Caissons Cross Country Team Sets More Personal Records

Fishburne Military School Cross Country continues to build upon successes. At the Augusta County Invitational, junior Garrett Rose (Columbus, IN) shaved off 19 seconds from last Saturday’s meet to earn a new PR of 18:31, while freshman Justin Hill (St. Augustine, FL) shaved off almost a minute from a PR from last year by recording a time of 20:46.
